F-15 (All versions) have Cockpit Graphics Error

Postby a1872 » Mon May 24, 2010 1:46 am

Hi. I was wondering how fast I could make the F-15 go, and compare it to the F-14. I ran the QME and clicked "Fly" and this version of the cockpit appeared--is it only me that has this error on the F-15 (All Versions)?

Hello a1872,
have you preloaded the F-15 before you start the QME mission?
For me it looks like a resolution problem. The cockpit which is shown at your picture seems to be the correct one, but the whole basic graphic is too small in the wide; the height is ok. Also the MFD content and the lights are displaced which is a sign for an incorrect resolution also. Please check the display settings of you graphics card from inside the cards interface!
Let us know if you found a solution,
Rainer

Hi, Rainer. I just found your message here--I wasn't alerted by email when you first replied. I'll try messing around with the resolution.
I just wanted to log in to the Airbase to tell everyone about wanting to buy an F-14 r/c plane that is so realistic that the wings can sweep back; its $250 and is meant for pros. I've flown some planes I bought from Wal-Mart, but never before did I go to an Internet site designed for this stuff! First, I'm going to buy a $34 dollar plane that is for newbies; after a long time, I'll get to the F-14. On the site, I see that they sell a flight sim for the model--but I already have PLATINUM for a kick-ass sim. And the PLATINUM is for LOTS of planes!

Hi, Rainer. I've tried changing the resolution to all values using the User Environ; I also clicked the "Load Mod Files" every time I changed the values. Nothing worked to solve the problem with the F-15. I also tried changing the resolution using the Nvidia interface--800x600, 1024x768, 960x600.
I also tried to input values under the manual resolution (Mr. Cestelli did a great job by including a labeled box for width, height, and depth). You posted earlier saying that something was wrong with the width, but the height was fine; I just choose a number for the width, but couldn't find one that worked.
Do you have any other ideas?
Thanks,
Anthony

Hi, Rainer. I just run SP 9.4 if I want to fly the F-15; the jets in PLATINUM and SP seem to have different speeds--the F-14 in PLATINUM can go +1000 knots, whereas the SP can only go about 750 knots. Is there a programing reason for this?--just curious.
Thanks,
Anthony

Hello a1872, all aircrafts in PLATINUM have the max. speed so close as possible to reality. It was a lot of work to get this high speeds and a stable flight behaviour at the same time. The differences with the speed and the flight behaviour are rooted in different flight model files.

Cool, COWAR. Thanks for the info!
I was wandering if you wanted to fly on-line sometime? I have people issues, but if you are okay with another time, I would be sure to be there.

Hi. I am wondering if downloading the F-15 cockpit and skin from the other sim sites (Mcfly's Hanger, SimHQ, etc.) would fix the problems that PLATINUM has with rendering the F-15?
I tried this, but I most probably did it wrong.
Thanks,
Anthony

Hello a1872,
I'm pretty sure, that the cockpit files from SimHQ, McFly and others will not fix your problem. I think the source of this problem and also the problem with some mod exe files which cannot be executed by your system is your system itself. Remember you never had this kind of problems before you have get your PC back from the repair.

If it is possible for you we can meet online tomorrow (Thursday) at 9:00 PM my time (7:00 PM GMT).
Let me know,
Rainer

Hi, Rainer. Tomorrow would work for me. Am I the only one who has the F-15 cockpit error? Is there anything I can do to fix this error on my system?

Thanks,
Anthony

P.S. For the on-line flight, I would like the F-14 or the Harrier.
